The Downriver Council for the Arts Home Gallery, 20904 North Line Road, Taylor, will present "Art and Artifact," Sept. 20 through Oct. 19.
College for Creative Studies fiber arts students provide personal interpretations of historical textiles in this provocative blend of art and artifact. At the same time, the Skylight Gallery will feature paintings by Judy Enrightthat symbolically explore the concept of paradox in an ever-expanding world, transcending the barriers of language and religion.
There will be a reception for the exhibitions from 6 - 8 p.m. Sept. 28.

River's Edge Gallery, 3024 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte, is featuring an exhibition by international artist Jerzy Werbel.
The exhibit will include paintings from Werbel's recent trip to Italy, as well as landscapes of San Francisco, still lifes and florals. Many of his still life paintings are mounted in his hand-painted frames.
The mezzanine continues a show to commemorate the "Summer of Love" with works by Jem Targel, Leni Sinclair, Gary Grimshaw, Mark Arminski, Johnny "Bee" Badanjek, Irene Will, Patricia Izzo and Carl Lundgren.
The gallery will have an opening reception Sept. 21 for a collection of paintings by Mark Arminski; as well as "Inside Out," a look through the "private painting diary" of Audrey Pongracz; and "Menage a Trois," an erotic photography show featuring works by Cheryl Button, B.T. Charles and Patricia Izzo.

The Padzieski Art Gallery, 15801 Michigan Ave., inside the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, will have an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 13 for an exhibition of works by expressionist nature painter Maeve Croghan.
Croghan, who resides on Mackinac Island and in San Francisco, paints scenes that reflect her love for her two environments.
The show will run through Nov. 3.
