The Downriver Council for the Arts Home Gallery, 20904 North Line Road, Taylor, presents "Our Rivers, Our Lakes," a collaborative exhibition with the Grosse Pointe Arts Center, through Thursday.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays during exhibitions.

Biddle Gallery, 2840 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte, is giving summertime browsers a chance to come in from the heat with the Climate Controlled Art Fair through next Friday.

Get away from heat by coming inside Biddle Gallery for an art fair featuring pottery, glass, furniture, home accessories and fine art by more than 100 Michigan artists.

Dreaming Through Reincarnation, new paintings by Ryan Weiss dealing with dreaming and a consciousness of an afterlife, is on display through Sept. 15.

The gallery also is featuring an exhibition titled "Vessels," slip-cast porcelain vessels by international award-winning ceramic artist John Albert Murphy, through Friday.

Murphy casts thin wall forms to accentuate the translucent qualities of porcelain.

River's Edge Gallery, 3024 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte, is featuring an exhibition by international artist Jerzy Werbel.

The exhibit will include paintings from Werbel's recent trip to Italy, as well as landscapes of San Francisco, still lifes and florals. Many of his still life paintings are mounted in his hand-painted frames.

The mezzanine continues a show to commemorate the "Summer of Love" with works by Jem Targel, Leni Sinclair, Gary Grimshaw, Mark Arminski, Johnny "Bee" Badanjek, Irene Will, Patricia Izzo and Carl Lundgren.

The gallery will have an opening reception Sept. 21 for a collection of paintings by Mark Arminski; as well as "Inside Out," a look through the "private painting diary" of Audrey Pongracz; and "Menage a Trois," an erotic photography show featuring works by Cheryl Button, B.T. Charles and Patricia Izzo.

Wayne State University presents "Head of the Class: 2007 Faculty Exhibition," with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 7 and running through Oct. 12 at the Community Arts Gallery in the campus Community Arts Building.

Pewabic Pottery, 10125 E. Jefferson, Detroit, is showing "Architectural Aspects — Tiles and Murals," an exhibition exploring Pewabic Pottery's contributions to architectural landmarks in the Detroit area and elsewhere.The exhibition runs through next Friday.

The pottery's annual sale, featuring 30 percent to 50 percent off Pewabic vessel ware and tiles, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public. Additional hours for Pewabic Society members are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
