Metro Shores Ballet/ Plymouth-Canton Ballet
The Metro Shores Ballet and the Plymouth-Canton Ballet will hold auditions for the 2007-2008 performance season. The auditions are open to all interested dancers.
Dancers are asked to bring a resume, dance photo and $10 audition fee. Girls are required to wear ballet shoes, pink tights and black leotard with their hair in a bun. Boys are required to wear ballet shoes, black tights or jazz pants and a white T-shirt.
All dancers will be evaluated for membership to the companies on their dance technique and performance potential during a ballet class. Girls with point shoes should be prepared to demonstrate their abilities.
The Metro Shores Ballet auditions will be tomorrow at the Grosse Ile Academy of Dance, 8205 Macomb St., Grosse Ile.
Dancers ages 7 to 9 years will dance from noon to 1 p.m., followed by ages 10 to 12 years from 1 to 2 p.m. and ages 13 to adult from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Seaway Chorale
Auditions for singers men and women 18 and older of any voice part interested in joining the Seaway Chorale will be held by appointment during evening hours Tuesday and Sept. 4.
Call Sharon York at 1-734-783-5202 to schedule an audition for those evenings. The chorale will present its 32nd annual holiday concert, "'Tis the Season," Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at Flat Rock High School community auditorium.
'You Can Be a Star'
Preliminary competition for the "You Can Be a Star" karaoke contest hosted by Party Time Entertainment will take place tomorrow at the Wayne County Fair, 10871 Quirk Road, Belleville.
The contest is for solo singers only. Winners will qualify for the Michigan State Fair finals to be held Sept. 2 on the main stage.
Those trying out must sing to prerecorded background tracks without lead vocals, and must furnish their own music. Microphones will be provided.
Two divisions of competition are planned a junior division for ages 17 and younger at 2 p.m. and an adult division for ages 18 and older at 4 p.m.

'We The People'
Creative Characters, in conjunction with Allen Park's Department of Parks and Recreation, will hold auditions for performers ages 5 to 17 for "We The People, The Musical" from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 at the Allen Park Community Center, 15800 White St.
The production is about six committee members planning a show for their town by using the Preamble of the Constitution as a guide and some patriotic tunes to express our freedoms in America.

Michigan
Opera Theatre Children's Chorus
Michigan Opera Theatre is forming a new performing ensemble: the Michigan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus for children ages 10 to 16.
Led by Chorus Master Suzanne Mallare Acton, the choir will perform as a separate ensemble and with international opera stars in Michigan Opera Theatre productions.
Children accepted into the chorus will learn the various aspects of opera and voice training, including voice studies, movement and audition techniques in a professional environment with internationally renowned opera singers and voice specialists as coaches and mentors.
Auditions for the chorus will be held this month, and the ensemble will rehearse and perform at the Detroit Opera House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays from September through June.
