The Kennedy Aquatic Center, 3101 West Road, Trenton, will be converted into a movie theater today as the city's Parks and Recreation Department presents its annual "Dive in Movie."
The family film "Over the Hedge," the featured attraction, is about a traveling raccoon con artist who arrives in the woods outside a human city, only to find that the animals living there are deathly afraid of people. With his encouragement, the local animals slowly venture over the hedge into the buffet that is the suburbs in this fast-paced animated comedy.
Pre-movie events will begin at 6:30 p.m. The movie, sponsored in part by Trenton Firefighters Charities, will be shown at dark.

Paddle along the lush backwaters of Oakwoods Metropark in the 34-foot, 18-passenger canoe "Huron" at 4 and 6 p.m. tomorrow and at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Sunday. There is a $3 fee per person or $40 per group.
Tadpoles, for children ages 2 to 5, meets at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at The Nature Center. This month's theme is "Summer Stuff." There is a $4 fee per child.
Meanwhile, Nature NUTS, for children ages 6 to 10, meets at the same time at the Nature Center. This month's theme is "Like totally trees, dude." There is a $4 fee per child.

Kids can make "Critter Contact," at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Marshlands Museum at Lake Erie Metropark. Learn all about a marshland animal from live examples and activities. There is a $2 fee per child.
Tomorrow also is Archeology Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. Bring a flat trowel and gloves, wear old pants and help on an archeological dig.
Quilting Sunday is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Become part of the informal Marshlands Quilting Guild. All skill levels are welcome. The Crack O' Dawn Coffee Club meets at 7 a.m. Aug. 4 for caffeine and an outdoor stroll. Donations will be accepted. The Muskrat Club, for kindergartners through third-graders, meets at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 4. Learn about the summer activities of prehistoric Native Americans. There is a $2 fee per child. At 2 p.m. Sunday, it's an annual favorite, "Lots of Lovely Lotus." Join an interpreter on an educational walk to the park's lotus beds. There is a $2 fee per person. Kids, give the video games a break and get outside during "Fishing Fun," a day camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 - 10 at Oakwoods Metropark. Children ages 8 to 13 can learn about the ecosystem, how to identify fish and go fishing. Participants will have to bring their lunches each day The cost is $75 for one child, $60 for each additional child from the same family. Advance registration is required. Get on board at the 17th annual National Train Show today through Sunday at the Cobo Conference/Exhibition Center in Detroit.
The event will showcase all aspects of model railroading, including more than 45,000 square feet of operating model train displays.
There also will be an 11,000-square-foot Lego Universe, collectibles appraisers, a children's play area and hands-on demonstrations.
Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children younger than 6. A two-day adult pass is $18.
