HA, THAT'S A LAUGH

Laugh it up at Downriver's own comedy club, The Comedy Room, at Portofino, 3455 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte.

Yo, Sal DeMilio, the "Italian Stallion of comedy," comes in today and tomorrow. Cal Verduchi brings an impressive set of impressions to the Comedy Room July 27 and 28.

The cost is $10 Fridays and $12 Saturdays, with dinner/show packages at $25. Call 1-734-624-5561.

For more information, call 1-989-965-0259.

Steve Bills tops the bill, along with featured act Denis Donohue, at Joey's Comedy Club, inside the Kickers Complex, 36071 Plymouth Road, Wednesday through Saturday.

Shows are at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are $5 Wednesdays and Thursdays, $12 Fridays and Saturdays.

Call 1-734-261-0555 or visit www.kickerscomplex for reservations or information.

On the heels of last year's attendance record-breaking inaugural tour, "Opie & Anthony's Traveling Virus" comedy tour is making its first trip to DTE Energy Music Theatre at 7 p.m. Aug. 4.

Confirmed artists for the tour include Bob Saget, Carlos Mencia, Frank Caliendo, Louis C.K., Otto & George, Rich Vos, Robert Kelly, Stephen Lynch and the third mic on the radio show — as well as a fan favorite — Jim Norton.

Before each show, fans will experience a popular attraction from last year's tour, the "Village."

The Village is a circus-like setup where fans can meet their favorite characters from the radio show in the "Petting Zoo," participate in outrageous games in the "Pest Booth" and enjoy a variety of local vendor booths.

Tickets are $65 and $39.50 pavilion, $20 lawn and are on sale now at Palacenet.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre box offices and all Ticketmaster locations. Charge by phone at 1-248-645-6666.

Comedian Artie Lange heads to the Fox Theatre for a night of laughter at 8 p.m. Sept. 15.

One of the most sought-after comedians and talk show guests, Lange has appeared on "The Late Show With David Letterman," "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "The Best Damn Sports Show, Period" and has been a regular on Howard Stern's radio show for the past five years.

Recently, Lange starred in, co-wrote and produced his own feature film, "Beer League."

Tickets range from $40-$75 and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices and at all Ticketmaster locations. To charge tickets by phone, call 1-248-433-1515. For more information, call 1-313-471-6611.

The Second City, 42705 Grand River Ave., Novi, presents its all new revue, "Michigan Impossible: All Laid Off & No Place to Go."

The show celebrates the humor in the social, political and financial turmoil of living in the nation's second-worst economy through the eyes of the recently unemployed, but also some atypical airplane passengers, the cultlike employees of a warehouse store and one mixed-up monkey.

Shows are at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; 8 and 10 p.m. Fridays; and 7 and 9 p.m. Saturdays. Tickets are $15 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; $20 Fridays and Saturdays.

Call 1-248-348-4448 or visit www.secondcity.com.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan will bring laughter to the Fox Theatre at 7 p.m. Nov. 17.

Best known for his many TV sitcom appearances and commercials, most recently for Sierra Mist, Gaffigan currently is a series regular on the TBS hit comedy "My Boys."

Tickets are $39.75, with a limited number of gold circle seats at $45, and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices and at all Ticketmaster locations.

Tickets can be charged by phone at 1-248-433-1515. For more information, call 1-313-471-6611.

America's foremost commentator on everything, comedian Lewis Black will bring his brand of humor to Detroit's Fox Theatre at 8 p.m. Nov. 24.

No matter the stupidity, the illogic or the injustice, the most indignant, exasperated man in America, will find it and tell audiences about it, as he does in his "Back in Black" spotlight on "The Daily Show" as the most acerbic of commentators.

Tickets are $37.50, $47.40 and $70 and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices and at all Ticketmaster locations. To charge tickets by phone, call 1-248-433-1515. For more information, call 1-313-471-6611.
