Spend a sultry summer night or two or three with Southgate Community Players at the Corner Playhouse, 12671 Dix-Toledo Road, Southgate.

The troupe's summer season begins with "Brunch: The Musical" July 13, 14, 20 and 21.

The presentation will be a cast reading/performance of an original musical by Rick Kunzi, as the show is tooled for some of New York's most prominent theater festivals in 2008. See a professional production in the works.

The series continues with the comedy "Run for Your Wife" July 27, 28, Aug. 3 and 4. Follow the perils of a London taxi driver as he tries to conceal the fact that he's married to two women.

A narrator and three singers show music's depiction of women from "Someone to Watch Over Me" to "I Will Survive" and beyond.

The show runs through Sunday. Tickets are on sale for $39.50. Tickets are available by phone at 1-313-963-9800, through Ticketmaster and at the Gem Theatre box office. Group discounts for 15 or more and dining packages at the Century Grille and Elwood Bar & Grill restaurants are available.
