TALK OF THE TOWN

"Busting the Myths of Ethanol" will be the topic of a discussion at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Copeland Center, 2306 Fourth St., Wyandotte.

Lisa Scramlin, communication and programs coordinator of the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan and the Michigan Corn Growers Association, will be the featured speaker.

With gas hovering at $4 a gallon, the talk will address the impact of corn into ethanol on the nation's energy dependence and economy, as well as how the process will affect food prices.

The Downriver Ambassadors Toastmasters Club is sponsoring the event.

The Lincoln Park Historical Museum, 1335 Southfield Road, will host "A Living History Open House," featuring demonstrations and storytelling, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12.
