Meadow Brook Theatre
The Theatre Ensemble at Meadow Brook Theatre will be holding general auditions for roles in its 2007-08 season 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. June 16 and 17 at Meadow Brook Theatre.
Members of Actors' Equity Association can request an appointment for a specific audition time by leaving a message at 1-248-370-3308. Non-union actors will be seen on a walk-in basis as time allows. Callbacks for individual shows will be scheduled at a later date. Multicultural casting will be used when possible.
The season will include productions of "Sherlock Holmes," "A Christmas Carol," "Rabbit Hole," "Biloxi Blues," "Moonlight and Magnolias" and "Man of la Mancha."
Individuals should prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues, no longer than three minutes total. There will not be musical auditions on these dates. For more information, visit www.mbtheatre.com.
Ann Arbor Civic Theatre
Ann Arbor Civic Theatre will have auditions for its staged readings of the two winning entries from its 2007 playwriting contest, "Heartland Tales," by Jon Elliott and "Come, Beauty," by Franco Vitella.
All auditions take place at A2CT's rehearsal studio at 322 W. Ann St., Ann Arbor.
Auditions for "Heartland Tales" are from 7-9 p.m. June 3 and 6-8 p.m. June 4. Actors are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue.
"Heartland Tales" is a series of loosely related vignettes about life in America. The cast calls for four men, ages 20-50, and three women, ages 20-45 for a variety of roles.
Auditions for "Come, Beauty" are from 5-7p.m. June 3 and 8-10 p.m. June 4 from.
"Come, Beauty" is a non-linear theatrical production in the style of "Waiting for Godot." There are roles for three men, ages 18-90 and one woman, age 18-30. Auditions consist of cold readings and movement.
Actors need attend only one audition session for each production and may audition for both shows.
