Metal Mind Productions: Roadrunner Records Series
Unfortunately, the phrase "metal" has become associated with oodles of acts that are undeserving of the category many of them involving lipstick, Aqua Net hairspray and music that's more pop than power.
Metal Mind Productions, a European-based label, joined with Roadrunner Records to introduce today's generation to the true meaning of metal, releasing an exhaustive series of some of the classic but obscure bands from the genre's hottest era - the late '80s and early '90s. The pieces are perfectly packaged, each including enhanced sound and artwork. Titles in the set include:
Crimson Glory, Strange and Beautiful (1992); Astronomica (1992)
Sadus, Chemical Exposure (1988), Swallowed in Black (1990), A Vision of Misery (1992)
Last Crack, Sinister Funkhouse #17 (1989), Burning Time (1991)
Atrophy, Socialized Hate (1988), Violent by Nature (1990)
Xentrix, Shattered Existence (1989), For Whose Advantage? (1991), Kin (1992)
Gorguts, Considered Dead (1991), The Erosion of Sanity (1993)
Toxic, World Circus (1987), Think This (1989)
Realm, Endless War (1988), Suiciety (1991)
The series also features volumes from Disincarnate, Heathen, Solitude, Znowhite and Pestilence. For more information on this awesome collection of pure, unadulterated old-school metal, visit www.roadrunnerrecords.com.
