Greenfield Village
Auditions for spring and summer roles at Greenfield Village will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. March 5 and 6 at the Anderson Theater in Henry Ford Museum, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn.
Roles are available for seven women and 10 men. Most of the roles require singing. These are paid roles. Performers will get $10 an hour during rehearsals and $90 a day for performances. Actors must be at least 18 by June 16.
Rehearsals will begin in April for "How I Got Home from Kitty Hawk" and "Edison's Light Fantastic."
"How I Got Home from Kitty Hawk," to be performed at the Wright Home, includes the following roles: (Actor must be able to convincingly play the ages given):
Wilbur Wright, age 36.
Orville Wright, age 32.
Katharine Wright, age 29.
"Edison's Light Fantastic" at Menlo Park needs a 32-year-old Thomas Edison. All four of these are non-singing roles.
These shows will run in the spring (May 1 through June 15) and summer (June 16 through Aug. 19).
"How I Got Over," performed at the Susquehanna Plantation, needs one woman (age 25 - 45) and one man (30 - 50).
"Simply Gershwin" performed in Town Hall, needs two women and two men (25 - 45).
These roles all require singing. Three women ages 20 - 40 are needed for The Village Trio and four men ages 20 - 40 are needed for the Greenfield Quartet.
Everyone auditioning should bring a headshot and resume. Prepare a one-minute monologue from an American play in which you play a likeable, natural, engaging character (no dialects). Also prepare a one-minute song written between 1860 and 1940.
