SOUNDBYTES

As the music industry continues to adapt to life after the MP3, labels continue to find new and different ways to sell products — some forms more creative and interesting than others.

But the demise of CD buying mixed with the rise of DVDs has certainly rejuvenated the concert film, both as an art form and commercial merchandise.

Universal label Interscope Records has cashed in on the idea, recently releasing a series of live DVDs from, commercially speaking, some of its hottest current acts in concert during the past year.

It may not be the answer to the business' looming challenges, but, hey, pop audiences may find some fun with the following titles:

  • A.F.I., I Heard a Voice: The "Girls Not Grey" and "Miss Murder" punk/pop quartet live in Long Beach, Calif., in '06.

  • Black Eyed Peas, Live from Sydney to Vegas: Before Fergie's solo outing exploded, the funky hip-pop favorite embarked on its successful Monkey Business tour.

  • Sheryl Crow, Wildflower Tour: Probably not as good — or relevant — as her Central Park show, her many hits are displayed from this NYC show.

  • The Pussycat Dolls, Live from London: The Carmen Electra-founded girl group (that scored big with the hit "Don't Cha") is a mix of dance-pop beats and cabaret big production.

  • Gwen Stefani, Harajuku Lovers Live: Although it is far removed both creatively and commercially from her days fronting No Doubt, this video captures Stefani live in Anaheim at the height of a very viable year for the "Hollaback Girl."
