"Our Body: The Universe Within," at The New Detroit Science Center, 5020 John R. St., is an educational exhibition of actual human bodies and organs. Many of the specimens are posed as though frozen in action in order to emphasize how the body's various parts work.

Get off on the right foot with "The 110-Mile Hiker Club" at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Join a hike on selected Saturdays each month. There is a $15 fee to join, which includes a logbook, snacks and a year-end party to celebrate your hiking mileage.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the Nature Center will present "Native American Snowflakes." Make traditional snowflakes while learning about this traditional Native American game. There is a $5 fee per person.

The "Saturday Creature Feature and Critter Craft" at 11 a.m. Feb. 10 in The nature center will focus on the woodchuck. There is a $4 fee per person.

At 1 p.m. Feb. 10, "Polish a Petoskey Stone," and discover the beauty of this unusual rock. Stones will be provided. There is a $4 fee per person.

At 1 p.m. Feb. 11, come to the Nature Center for "Tracking the Animals of Oakwoods," There is a $2 fee.

Legendary Detroit broadcaster Sonny Eliot hosts a fund-raiser screening of the movie "The Great Escape" at the Yankee Air Museum at 6 p.m. Feb. 10.

Prior to beginning his broadcasting career, Eliot served as a B-24 bomber pilot in World War II, and spent 18 months as a prisoner of war.

The evening's feature presentation will be shown in historic Hangar 2 of Willow Run Airport, with guests sitting between the Yankee Air Museum's War II era aircraft. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for their comfort. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided by the Yankee Air Museum.

Tickets are $5 for Yankee Air Museum members, and $10 for non-members. $5 of the $10 admission can be used toward membership dues for guests interested in becoming members of the museum. Henry Ford Community College will present the free planetarium show "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening — A Winter Star Talk," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Feb. 26 at HFCC's planetarium on the upper level of the Science Building on the main campus, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn.

Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. and close at show time. For safety reasons, latecomers cannot be seated. Admission is on a first-come, first-seated basis. No advance reservations are necessary.

"Our Body: The Universe Within," an eye-opening and educational exhibition of actual human bodies and organs, is making its Midwest debut at The New Detroit Science Center, 5020 John R St.

Including approximately 20 bodies and 135 other anatomical displays, the exhibit exposes the inner workings of human anatomy by presenting actual human specimens, reproductions of historic anatomical artwork and much more. By presenting an artful, compelling and dignified environment, guests will be able to connect with the human artifacts on a personal level that will help them to better understand their own bodies.

Tickets are $24.95 for adults, $22.95 for seniors and $19.95 for children, which includes Science Center general admission. Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors may add the IMAX Dome Theatre film "The Human Body" for an additional $3 for adults and $2 for children and seniors with the purchase of a ticket to "Our Body: The Universe Within." The Southern Great Lakes Symphony's Overture Society will host "Beat the Blahs," an evening of dinner and entertainment, starting at 6:30 p.m. next Friday at the Italian American Club Hall, 646 Biddle, Wyandotte.

The Royal Garden Trio will play traditional jazz, show tunes and vintage swing music for your listening and dancing pleasure.

Learn some of the secrets to drawing people at "The Great Saturday Draw In" Feb. 10 at the Downriver Council for the Arts gallery, 20904 North Line Road, Taylor.

Instructor Mark Jackson will facilitate a life drawing class from 9 a.m. - noon, using a live model. You must be at least 18 to attend.

Eugene Clark will show traditional techniques for drawing the human head from 12:30 - 2 p.m. This class is for all ages.

Friends of the Detroit River and Friends of Belle Isle will host "Shiver on the River 2007" on Belle Isle tomorrow.

Several Belle Isle buildings will be open for tours during this winter ecological family fun fair. The Belle Isle Casino will have activities continuously from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the Earth Angels dance group. Magic John, performance art with The Matrix Theatre and more than 20 environmental groups displaying the work of their organizations.

The Coast Guard Station will be open for the first time in the winter for tours, the Nature Zoo will have animals native to the area and the Old Detroit Boat Club building will be open.

Say, duffers, don't let a little thing like winter keep you off the links. The regulation golf courses at Lake Erie Metropark and Willow Metropark are open year-round, course conditions permitting.

Rates are $11 regular, $9 for seniors through March 30 with no tee-time reservations required. Golf carts are available for rent, depending on course conditions, and hand carts also are available for rent.

Smucker's Stars on Ice presents "Double Exposure: The Many Lives of Figure Skaters" at The Palace at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.

The star-studded lineup of Olympic, world and national champions and medalists scheduled to appear includes Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, Alexei Yagudin, Todd Eldredge, Yuka Sato, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, Steven Cousins, Jason Dungjen, Jennifer Robinson, Michael Weiss and Angela Nikodinov.

The world famous Lipizzaner Stallions will perform at The Palace at 2 p.m. Feb. 11.

Saddle up, little buckaroos, The Longhorn World Championship Rodeo returns to The Palace with "Hats Off To America" at 8 p.m. Feb. 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Feb. 18.
