MUSIC TO YOUR EARS



Huron Valley Eagles Aerie 3732, 13636 Telegraph, Flat Rock, presents bluegrass music at 8 p.m. Saturdays.

Bill Bynum & Company will take the stage at 8 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets are $7.

A spaghetti dinner will be offered tomorrow for $5.

The Taylor Town Trade Center, 22525 Ecorse Road, presents "The Taylor Town Opry," live music from 2 to 5 p.m. every Friday. The concerts are free. All ages are welcome.

Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe, along with special guests Severance and Jordon Taylor, will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Trenton Village Theatre, 2447 W. Jefferson, Trenton.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the American Cancer Society and the Histiocytosis Association of America.

"In the Mix," a free Wednesday music series, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 with the Doree' String Quartet from the Southern Great Lakes Symphony in the Ray Mix Room at Wayne County Community College District, 21000 North Line Road, Taylor.

"In the Mix" is presented by the Downriver Council for the Arts and WCCCD-Downriver.

Future concerts include the Gratitude Steel Band at 7:30 p.m. March 5 and The Royal Garden Trio + One at 7:30 p.m. April 2.

The Overture Society of the Southern Great Lakes Symphony will present "Midwinter Serenade," a dinner show and fund-raiser for the symphony, at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at The Downriver Italian-American Hall, 646 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte.

Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the music of Michael King and the Band at 8 p.m.

The "Spirit in the Night" concert featuring gospel vocalist Marie Knight kicks off Monroe County's 21st annual Black History Month Blues Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Monroe County Community College's Meyer Theater, 1555 S. Raisinville Road, Monroe.

Joining Knight for the blues and gospel show will be singer/songwriter Kim Wilson, co-founder of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, along with the Rev. Robert Jones and Sister Bernice Jones with the Sweet Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church Band & Choir.
