Columbia Pictures Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon star in Warner Bros.' thriller, "Missed Call."

ONE MISSED CALL - Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon) witnesses the gruesome deaths of two friends just days apart. Even more disturbing, she knows that both of them had received chilling cell phone messages - actual recordings of their own horrifying last moments - days before they died. The police think Beth is delusional, except for Detective Jack Andrews (Ed Burns) whose sister was killed in a freak accident similar to the deaths of Beth's friends. Together, Jack and Beth work feverishly to unravel the mystery behind the ominous calls. Rated PG-13 (Warner Bros.). MJR, AMC

AMERICAN GANSTER -Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), driver of one of Harlem's leading black crime bosses, sees his chance to rule the inner-city drug trade when his boss dies. Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe), an outcast cop close to the streets, suspects that a black power player is dominating the scene. Also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cuba Gooding Jr., RZA, Common and T.I. Rated R (Universal Studios). AP

BEE MOVIE - In this animated comedy, a bee, Barry B. Benson (the voice of Jerry Seinfeld), wants more out of life than a job at Honex making honey. Breaking one of the cardinal rules of beedom, Barry talks to Vanessa (voice of Renee Zellweger), a florist, and learning that honey can be purchased at grocery stores, he sets out to stop the injustice. Voice talents also by Matthew Broderick, John Goodman, Chris Rock and Rip Torn. Rated PG (DreamWorks Animation). AP

BEOWULF - In the time of legendary heroes, the mighty warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) battles the demon Grendel and incurs the wrath of the beast's ruthlessly seductive mother (Angelina Jolie). Also stars Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn and Alison Lohman. Rated PG-13 (Paramount Pictures). IMAX in 3D

CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR - Based on George Crile's book about how Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks), a swinging bachelor congressman from Texas, along with his sometime lover, wealthy Joanne Herring (Julia Roberts), and CIA agent Gust Avrakotos (Philip Seymour Hoffman) contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan and, consequently, the end of the Cold War. DAN IN REAL LIFE -Widower, single dad and popular family advice columnist Dan Burns (Steve Carell) falls for a beautiful stranger (Juliette Binoche) in a bookshop, only to discover she's the same woman his brother (Dane Cook) is about to introduce as his new girlfriend at their parents' annual get-together. Also stars Dianne Wiest, John Mahoney and Emily Blunt. Rated PG-13 (Touchstone Pictures). AP

ENCHANTED - A beautiful princess (Amy Adams) is banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern-day Manhattan. She begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid, even though she is promised to a perfect fairy tale prince (James Marsden) back home. Rated PG (Walt Disney Pictures). MJR

FRED CLAUS - Fred Claus (Vince Vaughn) fails to live up to the fine example set by his younger brother, Nicholas (Paul Giamatti), a true saint. Fred became just the opposite, and now his dirty dealings have landed him in jail. Nicholas agrees to bail Fred out on the condition that he works off his debt making toys in Santa's workshop. Also stars Kevin Spacey, John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks. Rated PG (Warner Bros.). AP

THE GAME PLAN - Rich and famous, superstar quarterback Joe Kingman (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) lives a fantasy life. Then he discovers the 7-year-old daughter (Madison Pettis) he never knew he had. Now, during the most important time in his career, he must figure out how to juggle parties, practices and dates with the demands of raising a daughter. Also stars Kyra Sedgwick. THE GOLDEN COMPASS - Based on Philip Pullman's novel, the fantasy adventure is set in an alternative world where Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards), a 12-year-old girl who starts out trying to rescue a kidnapped friend, winds up on an epic quest to save not only her world, but ours, as well. Stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Sam Elliott and Ian McShane. Rated PG-13 (New Line Cinema). MJR

THE GREAT DEBATERS - Professor Melvin Tolson (Denzel Washington), a brilliant debate team coach, uses the power of words to shape a group of underdog students from a small African American college in the deep south into a historically elite debate team to take on Harvard's championship team. Also stars Forest Whitaker, Jurnee Smollett, Nate Parker, Denzel Whitaker and Kimberly Elise. Rated PG-13 (The Weinstein Company). MJR, AMC

JUNO - Juno (Ellen Page) is a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera). With the help of her best friend, Leah, Juno finds her unborn child a "perfect" set of parents: Mark and Vanessa, an affluent suburban couple longing to adopt. Rated PG-13 (Fox Searchlight ). MJR

I AM LEGEND - Robert Neville (Will Smith) is the last human survivor of an attack of a mysterious virus in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, he has scavenged for food and supplies and sent out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors. All the while, the "Infected," mutated victims who have turned into carnivorous creatures, lurk in the shadows, waiting for Neville to make a fatal mistake. NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS - When a missing page from the diary of John Wilkes Booth surfaces, treasure hunter Ben Gates' (Nicolas Cage) great-great grandfather is implicated as a key conspirator in Abraham Lincoln's death. Determined to prove his ancestor's innocence, Ben follows an international chain of clues that takes him from Paris to London and back to America. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN - Based on Cormac McCarthy's novel, Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and 2 million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law can contain. Also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Woody Harrelson and Kelly Macdonald. Rated R (Miramax). MJR

THE POLAR EXPRESS 3D - Based on Chris Van Allsburg's book and with Tom Hanks as the conductor, this computer-animated film tells of a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole and embarks on a journey of self-discovery. IMAX

P.S. I LOVE YOU - Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) is married to the love of her life, Irishman Gerry (Gerard Butler). Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters to guide her, not only through her grief, but also in rediscovering herself. In the weeks and months that follow, the letters from Gerry send her on a new adventure, and each signs off "P.S. I love you." SEA MONSTERS 3D: A PREHISTORIC ADVENTURE - Photo-realistic computer-generated animation transports audiences back to the Late Cretaceous period, when a great inland sea divided North America in two. IMAX

SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET - When he returns from prison to reopen his barbershop, Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) becomes known for shaving the faces of gentlemen who never are heard of again. Joining him in his endeavors is his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter), who creates diabolical meat pies. The musical also stars Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and Sacha Baron Cohen. WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY - A parody of musician biopics, such as "Ray" and "Walk the Line," the film follows the life journey of fictional music legend Dewey Cox. Stars John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Kristen Wiig and Tim Meadows. Rated R (Columbia Pictures). MJR, AMC
